Safety Checklist
Pre-Operation
· Inspect tool for damage or wear.
· Clear and light work area.
· Check blade condition and installation.
· Wear proper PPE: glasses, hearing protection, dust mask.
· Remove tools/wrenches from saw area.
· Verify safety system status.
Setup & Use
· Secure material with clamps or fence.
· Lock fence and miter/bevel angles.
· Ensure the workpiece is completely clear of the blade before activating the saw.
· Avoid loose clothing and jewelry.
· Verify blade guard and riving knife movement.
· Test power switch and emergency stop functionality.
Operation Procedure
1. Preparation:
· Ensure the blade is appropriate for the material being cut and securely installed.
· Adjust the blade height so that it extends no more than 1/8 inch above the material.
· Set the rip fence or miter gauge to guide the workpiece accurately.
· Confirm that the riving knife and blade guard are properly installed.
· Wear safety glasses and hearing protection.
2. Starting the Saw:
· Stand to the side of the blade, not directly in line with it.
· Turn on the saw and allow the blade to reach full speed before beginning the cut.
3. Making Cuts:
· Use the rip fence for rip cuts (cutting along the length of the board).
· Use the miter gauge for crosscuts (cutting across the width of the board).
· Keep hands at least 6 inches away from the blade at all times.
· Use push sticks or push blocks when cutting narrow or small pieces.
· Feed the material steadily and smoothly through the blade without forcing it.
· Push the workpiece completely past the blade.
4. After the Cut:
· Wait for the blade to come to a complete stop before removing offcuts or adjusting the setup.
· Turn off the saw and clean the work area.
5. 5. Safety Tips:
· Never reach over or behind the blade while it is running.
· Do not use the rip fence and miter gauge together for the same cut.
· Avoid cutting warped, twisted, or unstable material.
· Always be aware of kickback risks and use proper techniques to minimize them.
4. Maintenance Schedule
Weekly
· Clean sawdust from motor vents and moving parts.
· Check blade for dullness, chips, or warping.
· Inspect power cord and brake cartridge for wear or damage.
· Test blade guard and riving knife movement.
Monthly
· Lubricate pivot points and moving mechanisms.
· Check alignment of rip fence and blade.
· Inspect brake cartridge and replace if worn.
· Tighten all bolts and fasteners.
Quarterly
· Deep clean motor housing and table surface.
· Inspect safety system functionality.
· Replace blade if performance is reduced.
· Review user manual for any model-specific updates.
